The Greatest Love

I sang this song as a dinner act during the 80's-themed dinner theatre show my senior year... I remember how challenging this song was for me, but I did it anyway. It didn't sound anything remotely close to this amazing performance, but I was proud to have taken the chance to sing such a meaningful song by such an amazing talent despite my self-doubt and fears.

I remember loving this song and its inspirational message back then, but listening to it 11 years later, it's rather humbling to realize how much more meaningful it is to me now, perhaps more than ever, not only within my own personal struggles, but also in how I have made it my purpose in life to work with and inspire children to live up to their greatest potential.

She wasn't a perfect human being with a perfect life (who is really?), and yet she used her God-given talents to motivate, move, and inspire thousands of people for so many generations. I am reminded once again that no matter how much we may doubt and even hate ourselves at times, we are always capable of loving others and we are always worthy of being loved. My hope is that now she is finally able to fully experience all of the love that the world has had and still has for her, the same love that she gave to us during her life and in the legacy that lives on in her music. Rest in peace, Whitney Houston.
