Common Sense

I'd like to think that I have pretty good common sense, and yet I do things like stay up longer than planned, even though I am already sleep-deprived and exhausted after a long day... or devote my thoughts, time, and affection to guys who don't even think twice about me, haha... Most of us know what is best for ourselves, and yet we tend to ignore that little voice of reason and go against our better judgment. Why is that? Perhaps it's the exhilaration of the unknown, or perhaps it's an internal rebellion... Maybe we don't think we deserve the benefit that comes from "common sense" behavior. Whatever our reasons may be, I think that acting out of common sense is, ironically, more unfamiliar than the opposite. You often hear stories about how things are going wrong, but rarely do you hear that everything is going right. We don't know what to do with ourselves when we have everything that we want... we always end up wanting more. Perhaps I should just speak for myself, but I have a feeling that some of you can relate.
